2320Mhz

My activities on 2320Mhz down below

2320Mhz activities

The 2320Mhz band is another band which I use. There are a lot of surplus UMTS parts available, which can be modified for the use on this frequency. The downsite of this frequencyband is that the frequency allocation worldwide it different. This requires a more complex RX system, to be able to cover frequencies such as 2300MHz (Canada), 2304Mhz (USA), 2320MHz (Europe) and 2400Mhz (Japan). Another issue is the possible interference from local WIFI systems, which degrade the reception of our weak EME signals.

Setup progress

Feb 2011 – Decided to expand the dish system with yet another interesting frequency band: 2320 MHz. Currently collecting the various parts for this band

Mar 2011 – On the fleamarket we bought 2 pieces of Andrews SSPA amplifiers to be modified for 2320 MHz

Jul  2011 – Completed the DEMI transverter

Jan 2012 – Completed modification on the Andrews driver section: 30dB // 25Watt

Jan 2013 – Completed modification on the Andrews final section: 150watt

Jan 2019 – The Andrews SSPA driver sections FLL15 and U17 died for unclear reasons. The SSPA was replaced by another unit with 90Watt RF out

Mar 2019 – Installed the 13cm transverter, SSPA and antenna in the dish for the first EME QSO on 2320 Mhz

Aug 2019 – Installed Choke on the feed and added RX for 2304 / 2320 Mhz

Oct 2020 – Added RX capability for 2400 MHz

Feb 2022 – Completed first QSO’s from JO32LR

Mar 2023 – Installed Ericsson SSPA – 300Watt
