EME Setup

Based on the 3m Dish, I configured my system for various frequencies.

The base station is a KENWOOD TS2000 transceiver, extended with transverters. The transverters and RF amplifiers are housed in the blue box behind the dish, while the pre-amplifiers are installed directly on the feed in the focuspoint of the dish.

Both the TS2000 and transverters are GPS controlled for an exact frequency.

The system is recently expanded with a moonnoise program, called TOTAL POWER from I0NAA. It takes advantage of the cheap RTL dongle. In this way it is possible to track the dish using moonnoise indication. It can be used for performance testing as well.

In parallel another RTL dongle is used to provide a wideband coverage of the EME section of the band. Here I can recognize activity in the EME section. When signals are discovered using Q65 digital modulation QMAP will automatically decode and indicate the exact frequeny of this station.
