24048Mhz activities
This frequencyband is new to me. For a long time I did not consider to prepare equipment for this band. However with the availability of the WAVELAB modules, I started to consider this frequencyband as well. After some testing on Tracking accuracy and RX performance I decided to give it a go-ahead.
I expect to be QRV in 2025.
Station outfit
Transceiver: TS-2000X – Wavelab Transverter
Preamplifier: DU3T – 1.22dB
Final amplifier: RW1127 – 30 W
Antenna system: 3m solid dish, Andrews prime focus – 49.2 dBd / Beamwidth: 0.2 degr / Lineair feed
Control system: VK5DJ – Stand alone interface
Setup progress
Aug 2024 – Started to check dish performance and tracking on 20Ghz using a VIASAT module. With a loaner feed ( DC1EHG) and converter ( PE1CKK) measured SN 12.2dB, MN 0.8dB ( ELE=20degr.)
Sep 2024 – Measured SN with new OM6AA designed feed: 13.5dB compared to DL1EHG feed: 12.2dB. PA0MHE Addon for Wavelab module completed and checked
Oct 2024 – Modified and Tested RW1127 TWT for 24Ghz (PE1CKK)
